About Me

I enjoy working with a diverse group of people. Each individual brings a certain unique quality and I love learning about their culture, beliefs and challenges.  It never ceases to amaze me the complexity of the family system and the traditions, values and ethnic values each holds.

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I have a B.S. in Human Environmental Science with a concentration in Family Studies and a M.S. in Human Development and Family Studies with a concentration in Marriage and Family therapy. I provide therapy services for individuals, couples, families, and focus groups. I have worked with clients concerning many issues, including, but not limited to: marriage, parent-child relationships, sibling relationships, physical and sexual abuse, eating disorders, depression, anxiety, stress reduction, infidelity, divorce and children, blending families, substance abuse, sexual addiction, and trauma. My passion is to help couples and individuals with sexual intimacy, sexual dysfunction and sexuality issues.

My mission in therapy is to help people create a positive environment by promoting clear, concise communication and to enable change. “By helping one person you start a ripple effect which reverberates through families and communities. It starts with you.” “I like helping people build their roots, trunk, and branches to support their blossoms in their Tree of Life. I believe in empowering self and creating a Healthy Self.”

I hold a M.S. in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Alabama. My private practice foundation is based on my belief in equality, spirituality (in all forms) and the human desire to seek a better understanding.

Tree of Life Concept

As a tree grows it needs strong roots, nurishment from the soil and rain, and room to grow. Just as a tree grows, we grow. Our roots come from our parents and their parents or those who raised us; going back many generations. As we continue through our Life Span we are nurished through the relationships of family, friends, and even our community.

Every connection we make has an impact on who we are as an individual.

Just like a tree, we need to build strong roots for a foundation, so we can blossom and grow.
